Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a centuries-old healing technique involving careful burning an aged preparation of the herb, Mugwort (Artemesia spp). There are a variety of moxibustion techniques that Suzanna uses, including okyu (Japanese thread moxa), ibuki (pre-rolled moxa), cone moxa, bamboo moxa, tiger warmer, moxa pole, and moxa on the head of the needle. All forms of moxibustion offer warming, moving, and nourishing benefits.

Some acupoints in the body are contraindicated to needling. With those points, moxa is generally the means that is used to activate them.

Bamboo moxa is especially good at relieving menstrual cramps and digestive ailments.
